Oberti Vineyard "Bea's Knees" Petite Sirah 2015
AVA Suisun Valley, California, USA
100% Petite Sirah | 14.5% ABV
We are delighted to offer this American red wine from California made with 100% Petite Sirah grapes. Petite Sirah can almost be considered as one of California's proprietary grapes. This delicious wine comes from Suisun Valley, a small lesser known AVA that lies just outside of eastern Napa. Though a moderately concentrated wine, it is still welcoming.
A nose of blackberry compote, cherry, and spice is followed up with an expansive palate that finishes on a touch of soy sauce, and damson plum.
Service: Serve at 15 to 18°C.
Food Pairing: Excellent with beef, game, lamb, pasta in tomato sauce, poultry and vegetarian dishes.

"Wine is an endlessly fascinating beverage that rewards patient and attentive study. First and best, of course, it is a pleasure to be shared with friends and loved ones. May our wines be a part of your celebrations and special moments." says Matt

PWR source their grapes from some of California’s most amazing vineyards, across Sonoma, Mendocino County, and Suisun Valley.
The 2014 “Bea's Knees” is 100% Petite Sirah from the Oberti Vineyard in Suisun Valley, farmed with minimal inputs by Gary Mangels. Suisun Valley is a little known AVA only a few miles southeast of Napa Valley. Entering the valley is like stepping back in time. In this bucolic setting it is difficult to imagine that Interstate 80 is so close you can almost hear it. The valley is generally warm but it is so close to the San Pablo Bay and Carquinez Strait that is has a number of cooler microclimates. Suisun Valley can ripen almost everything—forget about Pinot Noir and Riesling, but just about anything else you can imagine does well here.
Petite Sirah thrives in Suisun Valley, and will probably emerge as its signature varietal. Everything we love about Petite Sirah is abundant in the Oberti Vineyard grapes—rich, densely concentrated flavors, intense color and tannins that are formidable but not forbidding.

Cellaring: Drinking well now.
