Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc | 14.0% ABV
Intense from Umbria. A subtly powerful expression of Sangiovese with hints of damson and blackcurrant on the nose with a body of Cabernet on the palette. Bursting with ripe bush-berry, wild strawberry and a hint of pepper fading onto finish from the Cabernet Franc. Simply sensational.
Serve at 17 to 18°C or room temperature.
Food Pairing: Red meats, game, cheese, cold meats or just on its own! Best to be opened at least one to two hours before consumption and allowed to breath.
Umbria, known as the green heart of Italy, is the home of AZIENDA AGRICOLA CORBINE DI MEZZO, a family run estate producing both olive oil and wine.
They took the plunge to invest in their own modern wine production facility so that they could take full control of the end product and apply the very considerable day to day attention that is required to producing a great wine. The winery was completed in 2010.
Their location, perched upon the hills between the historic towns of Assisi and Perugia which provides an impressive backdrop and an ideal climate for the nurturing of some 3000 olive trees and a 5 acre vineyard.
The first harvest was in September 2007. Without their own facility, the grapes were taken to a small wine maker in the local village and the idea of “Corvento” was born. The brand name of “Corvento” is a lovely combination of the Italian words for “heart” and “wind”.

Cellaring: Drinking well now, can be kept in the cellar for the next 5 years.
After the alcoholic fermentation process in stainless steel tanks, the wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, continuous monitoring takes place until it is then bottled where it is rested for at least six months
